Introducing Panasonic Lumix

From time to time, work moves through the agency that we are particularly proud of. A campaign for Panasonic Lumix cameras is one we would love you to take a look at and get involved with!

As part of planning for Lumix in 2011 we proposed forming a partnership with a media owner and working with them develop an integrated campaign for Lumix centred around a photographic competition.

We have collaborated with NZH Online to develop a national competition that captures the imaginations of  advanced compact camera users.

It’s a great platform for us to explain and showcase the key benefits of the hero product Lumix GF2 (which is an interchangeable lens camera packed with features) in everyday language.

People are invited to submit a photo essay and Panasonic have put up some amazing prizes including a guided photography tour through a World Heritage site in South East Asia.

NZH are helping us deliver scale to the competition and will be delivering Lumix content across multiple platforms; their website, ipad app, mobile, edms, facebook, twitter and of course the daily paper.

If you are interested in photography this is a great competition to enter…  check it out!

Jason Paris resigns as Mediaworks TV CEO

It has been just over a year since Jason Paris joined Mediaworks as CEO Television. Given the tough conditions, we all knew the role would be a challenge. However, in that short time he has made some significant change but has been hamstrung by the ability to generate enough content for his channels, 3 & 4. In the short term, Mediaworks TV's course does not look like deviating from its current course however we are sure there will be changes in strategic direction for the media owner.

We can only speculate why he left but we wish him well and hope Jason stays in the NZ market and continues to make a difference where ever he lands.

Official press release below:

MediaWorks has announced that Television CEO, Jason Paris, has resigned his position.

MediaWorks Group Managing Director Sussan Turner said at the company’s request Jason will be working through his notice period to ensure the smooth transition of all projects across the television business. She will now assume, as part of her Group MD role, Head of Television responsibilities and senior television management will report to her.

"I am very confident that we have, in our current Television Management team, the skill and expertise required to guide MediaWorks Television’s future development and growth.

“The Board of Mediaworks want to acknowledge the contribution that Jason has made to the television business.”

Jason said: “The television team has achieved a huge amount in a challenging commercial environment. I thank all of them for them for their hard work and support and wish them all the very best in their ongoing endeavours.”

Welcome to the ZenithOptimedia NZ Blog

Here we are. The newly created ZenithOptimedia NZ Blog.

Zoology is defined as the study of the structure, physiology, development, and classification of animals. In the ZO world, ZOOLOGY is our observation of audiences and their interaction with media.

We are an agency that passionately believes in the power of conversations to create greater return on our clients investment. To continue to be successful in creating innovative and effective connections, we need to create and facilitate conversations with consumers.

We are excited about the changes taking place in our industry and the opportunities that these present for deeper, more engaging conversations.

So we are putting our money where our mouth is and starting our own conversation. This blog will continue to evolve over time but we hope that it is the beginning of a valuable and meaningful conversation about all things interesting in the world of audiences and media.

Enjoy, and please participate. For bite size snippets of news make sure you follow us on Twitter also (you can find a link on the right hand side of the page).

Thanks from the ZenithOptimedia NZ team.
